// Story //

How can I dare to talk to you, you who breathe, about love and its headwinds?

One winter I was by her side, then when summer came we were separated, abandoned to the last scents of the other, to the negatives that we desperately try to colour, to the curved shapes left on the mattress that are already being redesigned.

Far in time, far in space, we tried to swim in our decimated purgatory. So I took ten steps, she took one. I saw her on the horizon, but she still escaped me. So I took a hundred steps, she took ten. I saw her on the horizon, but she still escaped me. So I took a hundred steps, she took fifty. I saw her on the horizon, but she still escaped me.

So I left in the opposite direction, against the tide and the winds, against her will and my senses. I could not express myself in verse, these words are fragile, sensitive and victims of arrogant lips. I drew canvases, adorned with an abandoned self, and a versatile mermaid. I called on a brother, and together we brought these paintings to life in a seven-minute fable. You may see ...

An abandoned self. A self without curves, without breath, which would only advance in a straight line.

A mermaid in the distance, a mile from me. These love stories, when they sting an earthly, mortal being, will be, for the one who breathes, only stories of abandonment.
